Last week was a quiet week at the Center. The weather has begun to change and fall
seems to be in the air. We are
continuing our clean up and beginning to prepare for fall. We have gotten some of the fall crops in –
cabbage, carrots, lettuce, cauliflower, and kale. Sweet potatoes are being harvested as well as
the sapote and pomegranates. Yum. Our pumpkins are maturing, making us think of
cooler days and holiday pie.
Other improvements include; the new tortoise enclosure being
built by a neighborhood girl scout troop, our “Ocean” themed room that’s being
painted by a volunteering youth group, and a plan for improving the small
cement ponds is also being created.
A
special thanks to not only these groups, but to all of the people who help us
everyday.
